LEAP YEAR nominated for Sutherland Award at the 54th BFI London Film Festival

AX1 Films is delighted to announce that LEAP YEAR has been nominated for the prestigious Sutherland Award at the 54th BFI London Film Festival.

The Sutherland Award is presented to the most original and imaginative first feature.

The London Film Festival will mark the film's UK premier, before its theatrical release on November 26th.

UNDERTOW at Edinburgh International Film Festival

AX1 Films is delighted to announce that Javier Fuentes Leon's debut feature, UNDERTOW ('Contracorriente'), has been selected to screen in 'Official Selection' at the 2010 Edinburgh Film Festival.

This will represent the film's UK premiere, before its theatrical release on 6th August.

Axiom takes LEAP YEAR

UK producer / distributor AX1 Films has acquired all UK and Ireland rights to LEAP YEAR (ANO BISIESTO), winner of the prestigious Camera D’Or prize for best first feature at the 2010 Cannes International Film Festival.

LEAP YEAR from Mexico is the powerful debut feature film of Michael Rowe, an Australian playwright, poet and screenwriter who has been living in Mexico for 16 years, and features an extraordinary leading performance by Monica Del Carmen supported by Gustavo Sanchez Parra.

The film was acquired from Paris based sales agent Pyramide International, with a deal concluded during the festival.
