All UK and Ireland rights to Flemish filmmaker Tom Barman's film ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS have been acquired by AX1 Films. The film will receive its international premiere on August 7th at the Locarno International Film Festival, screening as part of the Piazza Grande nightly open air programme.

Barman's debut feature has become the strongest opener in Belgium in the last year, clocking up almost 50,000 admissions on 14 screens for Belgium distributor Cineart since its release on June 18. Writer/director Barman is best known as the frontman of rockband dEUS.

The soundtrack, which forms a major part of the film, contains music by Herbie Hancock, Squarepusher, Charles Mingus, Yazoo, Magnus and many more artists.

The film was produced by Belgium's Corridor Films, and the acquisition negotiated with French sales house, Films Distribution.
